Today, we’re going to talk about phrasal verbs we often use when talking to people on the phone. 今天我们来学习打电话时常用的短语动词

But first of all, what is a phrasal verb? 什么是短语动词呢? 简单的说，就是一个动词加介词组成的短语。比如: Come on 大家都知道这句话的意思不是来上面，而是来吧，快点吧 - 短语动词是很常用的，无论在日常生活还是在职场上都时时会听到。

So let’s have a listen to the phrasal verbs in today’s conversation

A: Hello, J&J Consulting, how may I help you?

你好，J&J Consulting, 有什么可以帮助您？

B: Hello, could you put me through to Jack Smith please?

您好，可以帮我专辑Jack Smith吗？

A: Sorry, we got cut off just then. Could you say that again and speak up a bit?

不好意思，刚才断线了。您可以再说一遍，说大声一点吗？

B: Sure, I’d like to speak to Jack Smith please.

Today's phrasal verbs

1. Put (someone) through

转接

Could you put me through to Jack Smith please?

请帮我转接Jack Smith

Putting you through now.

现在帮你转接

2. Cut off

= 断线，打断

We got cut off

我们断线了

Don’t cut me off!

不要打断我!

3. Speak up

= 说话大声一点

Sorry I can’t hear you. Can you speak up?

不好意思我听不见。你可以说大声一点吗？
