似花还似非花，

也无人惜从教坠。

It’s somewhat like flower but not quite a flower.

Without care of someone, it’s ignored and let fall.

抛家傍路，思量却是，无情有思。

Upon taking off from home, it’s left on road.

It has its feelings notwithstanding,

although it doesn’t seem to fall for anyone.

萦损柔肠，困酣娇眼，欲开还闭。

Branches are like supple guts in twirls,

and leaves are tantalizing drowsy eyes

that are shut but struggle to open up.

梦随风万里，寻郎去处，又还被莺呼起。

Her dream travels thousands of miles

in her pursuit of the husband.

Yet again she’s awaken by the orioles.

不恨此花飞尽，恨西园、落红难缀。

She resents not all the flowers are gone,

but abhors that at the western garden,

all the fallen petals can’t be reassembled.

晓来雨过，遗踪何在？

After the rain at dawn,

where can they be found?

一池萍碎。

They’re crumbled bits floating in a pond.

春色三分，二分尘土，一分流水。

If spring spirits are divided into three parts,

then two parts would be buried in soil,

and one part would disappear into river.

细看来，不是杨花，点点是离人泪。

In looking closely,

those may not all be poplar flowers,

but tears from bidding farewell.

白话译文

非常像花又好像不是花，无人怜惜任凭衰零坠地。杨花离枝坠地，看似无情，却自有它的愁思。娇柔的柳枝，就像思妇受尽离愁折磨的柔肠，那嫩绿的柳叶，犹如思妇的娇眼，春困未消，欲开还闭。正像那思妇梦中行万里，本想寻夫去处，却又被黄莺啼声惊唤起。

不遗憾杨花飘飞落尽，只是遗憾西园满地落红枯萎难再重缀。早晨一阵风雨，又去哪里寻找落红的踪迹？早化作一池翠萍。如果把春色姿容分三份，其中的二份化作了尘土，一份坠入流水了无踪影。细看来那全不是杨花啊，是那离人苦愁的眼泪。
